By financial contributions, as well as the contribution of the time and talents of our employee volunteers, we support numerous health and human services programs as well as youth and education initiatives in Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, Putnam counties in NY and Bergen County in NJ.

 
 

Provident Bank Charitable Foundation


The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation awards financial grants to qualifying non-profit organizations that provide services to the communities of Rockland, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Putnam Counties in New York and Bergen County in New Jersey. The foundation emphasizes supporting health and human services programs, as well as those benefiting education and youth programs.

Guidelines

Budget limitations prevent the Provident Bank Charitable Foundation from fulfilling all requests and only those meeting the following criteria will be considered. To be considered, an organization must have:

  • Tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code
  • Health and human services, educational programs, or youth programs
  • Clearly defined objectives
  • An active board of directors and administrators


Funding will not be given to:

  • Individuals or labor groups
  • Religious organizations, unless the program to be funded directly benefits students in the overall community, or health and human services
  • Political, legislative or lobbying organizations
  • Private foundations that are grant-making bodies
  • Municipalities with tax authority
  • Donations of banking services
  • General operating expense, administrative salaries or advertising costs
  • Beauty/talent contests or athletic scholarships

The Foundation’s annual funding period is January 1st through December 31st and all funds are distributed quarterly.

All requests for funding must include:

  • A completed application
  • Submission cover letter
  • Financial and other documents listed on the application checklist


Deadlines for application submission are: February 20, May 20, August 20 and November 20.
